Description

Specialty Coffee Beans

Known as the “Land of One Thousand Hills”, Rwanda is filled with lush mountains. In fact, the entire country is at a high elevation - its lowest point is 950 metres above sea level.

This topography – along with the rich, fertile volcanic soil, high quality bourbon variety coffee trees, and a temperate climate with plenty of sun and equatorial mist – makes it the perfect place to grow high quality coffee.

This amazing washed bourbon grows in the Mageragere area, which is situated close to the trisector of Southern and Eastern Provinces and capital city of Kigali.

The name ‘Tuzamurane’ is a Kinyarwanda word that translates roughly as “lift one another up” or “support each other”.

Josie, the head of the cooperative where these beans are from, is also the land owner for the 35 women that form the collective. They have been growing coffee for 13 years.

Zero Waste Specialty Coffee

These beans are roasted by our neighbours and are supplied in a closed-loop system which means the tubs in which it is supplied to us are collected and reused. And because it's so local, we do this on a push bike!

Ingredients & Allergens

Ingredients: Coffee beans

For allergens see ingredients in bold.

Due to the way our food is stored and packaged, this product may contain traces of other allergens due to cross-contamination.

Storage

Your beans’ greatest enemies are air, moisture, heat, and light.

Store in an airtight container in a dark, cool, dry place. A cabinet near the oven is often too warm, and so is a spot on the kitchen counter that gets strong afternoon sun.

To keep the great flavour, use within 1 month. The coffee will keep for up to 6 months but the flavour won't be as good. See best before date.
