The bioactive supergiant, spirulina has grown on earth for over 2.4 billion years.
This ancient cyanobacterium is a planet-friendly source of protein, cultivated sustainably in fresh water pools under warm sunlight on an island in the South China Sea.
Spirulina is a natural source of vitamins A, B1, B2, iodine and manganese. These nutrients protect the body against oxidative stress, nourish the immune system and support heart function.
Eating Organic Spirulina
I mix this in with smoothies and juices. I think it's a rather nice addition to pesto too!
Whatever you do, don't cook it(!) and certainly not for prolonged periods as you'll compromise the nutritional content (check out the stats below!)
