What Is Baking Powder?

Baking powder is a raising agent used to create a light, fluffy texture, often in baked foods.

By adding water, a reaction between the acid and base takes place. Tiny carbon dioxide bubbles are produced and trapped in the dough or batter, which help it to expand and rise. 

Cooking with Baking Powder

To transform plain flour into self-raising flour, just mix 1tsp of baking powder with 100g of plain flour.
