Flaked Almonds - Organic
What Are Flaked Almonds?
Almonds are among the world’s most popular tree nuts and are used to produce almond milk, oil, butter, flour or paste (marzipan). Flaked almonds are produced by shelling almonds, blanching with water/steam, then hot air dried and finely sliced.
Cooking with Flaked Almonds
Flaked almonds make an excellent nutritional accompaniment to salads and stir frys.
Try lightly toasting the flaked almonds and then add them to a warm salad of spinach, snow peas, green beans, roasted pumpkin and cherry tomatoes, with a light dressing – they add such a lovely texture.
You can also add them to your breakfast for some extra nutrition. Simply sprinkle over your cereal/porridge/muesli/yoghurt. You can also use them in baking, eat them as they are or add to a trail mix.
