Wild Liquorice

Liquorice grows abundantly on the banks of the Rio Ebro in Southern Spain and is harvested on 4 to 6-year cycles depending on the quality of the soil, the amount of rainfall and the hours of sunshine.

Harvest is done by hand and in the busiest times of year, up to 8 tonnes of fresh liquorice root can be harvested every week! It is certified FairWild, which ensures that the environmental and social conditions of the crop are sustainable and a high-quality product remains available into the future.
