What are Fennel Seeds?

Fennel (also known as sanuf) is native to the Mediterranean and part of the carrot family.

Fennel seeds are the dried seeds of the fennel plant and have a sweet, mild liquorice taste. They are about 4-8mm long and look like a sunflower seed with bright-pale green streaks

What are Fennel Seeds Good For?

Fennel seeds are popular in Indian curries, pickles and chutneys. They are also considered a digestive and mouth freshener so are chewed by some as an after-dinner mint!

Good to know - flies dislike fennel, so sprinkling some fennel powder in an area usually gets rid of them.
